How long will my personal information be kept?

The period for which we may retain information about you will depend on the purposes for which the information was collected, whether you have requested the deletion of the information, and whether any legal obligations require the retention of it (for example, for regulatory compliance).

We will not retain information about you for longer than is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected.

In general:

• Documents are available for the buyer to download for a period of 12 months after the date you sold your car to them.
• Bank details are stored with our payments partner, only until the transaction is completed and those details have been verified.
• For everything else (e.g., a record of your transaction), we retain this information for a period of 6 years from the date your car sells, in line with ICO and HMRC guidance.
