Yes. You can sell your vehicle on Motorway and retain your private plate.

To do this, complete the private plate retention application on the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) website.

It typically takes 3-5 working days for your new V5C logbook (with a new, assigned registration) to arrive. 

It’s best to wait for this before selling your vehicle on Motorway. This is because we identify your vehicle by its registration, and it’s simpler to use your newly assigned plate to avoid confusion.
