Usually, you can find them in your service book or they will be stored online on the manufacturer or retailer website if your car is a newer model. However, if you do not have access to these, there are other ways to get hold of your service history records.
With certain manufacturers, you can obtain your vehicle's service history records online or through the vehicle dashboard. You can also contact the vehicle manufacturer to find out how many main dealer services it has had. Some manufacturers will also be able to provide details of independent services.
If your vehicle has had services at independent garages, copies of service history invoices may sometimes also be obtained from there, as they are legally obliged to retain these records for seven years.
If your vehicle was serviced by a previous owner, it may be more difficult to get hold of the service records. However, it is worth checking your vehicle's MOT record online and entering the details from the V5C to find out where it took place. You can then contact the garage to see if they have records of any service.
