We need a clear copy of your driving licence to:
- Verify your identity
- Validate the sale of your vehicle
Driving licences can be issued in any country. Provisional licences are also accepted as a valid form of ID.
When you need to upload your driving licence
- While your vehicle is in the daily sale – this is to save you time once a deal is agreed
- On the day of collection – this is to prove your identity to the buyer
Important information
- The name and the address on the driving licence should match the name and the address stated on the V5C logbook
- If there’s a mismatch, you need to send over an additional proof of address document that matches either the licence or V5C logbook
- A supporting proof of address can include a utility bill, a council tax bill, a letter from HMRC, or a bank statement (dated within the last 3 months)
If you don’t have a driving licence or it’s expired
- We can accept an alternative document to prove your identity – usually a passport
