How and when will I be paid for my vehicle?
All dealers we work with will arrange free collection - from your home, work or wherever is convenient, before arranging a fast payment within 24 hours – also for free.
On the day of collection, the dealer or a member of their team will inspect your car to make sure it matches the description you shared. This usually involves a quick look over the bodywork, interior, and general mechanics, and sometimes a short test drive.
Provided you’ve accurately profiled your car, the dealer is committed to pay the amount you agreed by accepting your highest offer. The dealer will only suggest a lower amount on the day of sale if anything is materially different to the details you shared in the profiling step. This is why it's so important to be as accurate as possible when you profile the vehicle to reduce the chance of the offer you accepted being reduced.
Once the dealer has confirmed the car matches your description, they’ll arrange a free, fast payment. You'll be paid via online bank transfer and in most cases, money is transferred on the same day the vehicle is collected to your nominated bank account. You can confirm with the dealer before this payment is made.
The time it takes for your money to be received can vary slightly depending on the dealer, and which bank you're with. In most cases, the money will be in your bank account before the car is driven away, or at the latest within 24 hours of the collection taking place.
If there's any outstanding finance remaining on the car, this'll be cleared first before you receive your money. You can find more information on clearing finance here.
None of our dealers will be able to pay you in physical cash (i.e. in bank notes).
