How and when will I be paid for my vehicle?
1. Who Pays Me?
The payment for your vehicle comes directly via a secure online bank transfer (no cash payments).
- Payment is made into the registered keeper’s bank account.
- Bank Details: You are asked to share your banking information during the document upload process (once you accept an offer). This information is securely encrypted and only shared with your buyer once the deal is agreed upon, ensuring payment can be processed as quickly as possible..
2. When Will I Get Paid?
Payment is processed at the point of collection, after the dealer's representative has inspected the vehicle and confirmed that all details match your profile. The dealer will not pay before collection.
- Payment Timeline: The money transfer will be executed at the collection site, at the point the vehicle is collected.
Important Note on Bank Processing Times
Payment is initiated at the point of collection and should generally be in your account within minutes, depending on who you bank with. Some non high street banks and building societies can take a few hours to apply the funds to your account.
| Reminder: You, as the seller of your vehicle, will need to notify the DVLA once the sale has been completed (car collected and paid). Click here to see how to do it. |
